The culinary workshop is aimed at schoolchildren and lasts for two school hours. The programme is tailored to different age groups, with culinary and disability as key themes.

The workshop is held in the teaching kitchen of the HUDO DOBRO Community Development Institute in Renkovci, where, with a commitment to local provenance and respect for the manual labour of people with disabilities, we are creating a line of food products under the HUDO DOBRO brand.

Objectives of the workshop:

– pupils learn about the dishes made from grassland apples,

– by tasting the ingredients, pupils deepen their perception,

– pupils develop the skills and manual abilities needed to prepare food,

– pupils get to know the elements of social entrepreneurship,

– pupils learn how to communicate, cooperate, and find solutions together.


What will we do?

Introductory part

In the introduction, children are introduced to our programme, which is based on the active inclusion of vulnerable groups in work environment.

Culinary part

The programme continues in our teaching kitchen, where participants prepare two healthy snacks, using apples from the surrounding grassland orchards as the main ingredient. In a relaxed atmosphere and in the cosy surroundings of the teaching kitchen, children experience the magic of the smells and tastes of ingredients grown in the surrounding area. We introduce them to the usefulness of apples and the dishes in which they are or used to be included and teach them about the preservation of extensive native grassland plantations. By actively participating in the preparation of food, children develop skills and manual abilities such as preparing healthy snacks, weighing ingredients, kneading, peeling, cutting, and cleaning the work area.

Cooperative games

In the second part of the programme, participants practise communication, collaboration, and joint problem-solving through a cooperative game. At the end, there is time for reflection, discussion, and questions.

Finishing minutes

The workshop finishes with tasty healthy snacks prepared by the children in the kitchen.
